Philanthropy

Infrassure supports less privileged communities by financing a new charitable project every year. We prefer to select self-sustaining projects, where the sharing of technical knowledge and hands-on experience will lead to capacity within the community to maintain their infrastructure. The principal focus of these charitable endeavors is to provide the beneficiaries with access to safe drinking water, sanitary facilities and electricity.

Infrassure’s response to worldwide catastrophes

December 2011: Philippines
Infrassure has donated CHF 50,000 to the Philippine Red Cross to help with their relief efforts following the tropical storm Sendong which ravaged the area of Mindanao.

August 2011: Ethiopia and Kenya
East Africa is experiencing the longest period without rain for 60 years. To support the work in the region which is being organized by the Swiss Red Cross to alleviate the condition of the people, Infrassure has donated to the following projects:

• CHF 25,000 towards building two large water containers which will improve the situation for people in the border area between Ethiopia and Kenya over the long term.
• CHF 25,000 for the distribution of food in schools and to the building of water tanks and pipes to serve the people in the region of North East Kenya.

 

March 2011: Japan
Following the calamitous earthquake and tsunami in Japan, Infrassure has donated CHF 50,000 to the Japanese Red Cross to support their work in the stricken areas.

August 2010: Pakistan flood
Infrassure has donated CHF 25,000 to help the flood victims in Pakistan. The donation was made through the Swiss Red Cross.

March 2010: Chile
Infrassure has donated CHF 50,000 to the relief work which is being organized through the Swiss Red Cross for the victims of the earthquake and subsequent tidal wave in Chile.

January 2010: Haiti Earthquake
Infrassure has contributed CHF 50,000 for the reconstruction of the water and sewerage infrastructure in Haiti following the catastrophic earthquake in January, 2010 which killed thousands and left much of the country in ruins. The donation was made through Helvetas.

September 2009:
CHF 25,000 to Indonesia (earthquake relief) through the Swiss Red Cross

September 2009:
CHF 25,000 to Philippines (hurricane relief) through the Swiss Red Cross

September 2008:
CHF 25,000 to Haiti (hurricane relief) through the Swiss Red Cross

November 2007
CHF 20,000 to Bangladesh (tornado) through the Swiss Red Cross

November 2007
CHF 20,000 to Mexico (flooding) through the Swiss Red Cross

Special Donations

June 2011: Infrassure supports the renovation of a dormitory building on the Dom, Switzerland.
Infrassure has donated SFR. 200,000 to assist with the renovation of a building first constructed in 1956 by the architect Jakob Eschenmoser, which is now being brought into line with current standards.
